This photo was taken on Sunday 29th July 2001.  It is of me Steve Rigby walking up the ladder to get into a Russian Mir submersible on my way to the Titanic.  This was something I had dreamt about for many, many years ever since the wreck of the Titanic was discovered back in 1985





A fellow historian and friend of mine Brigitte Saar from the German Titanic Society had been lucky enough to dive to the Titanic in 1998 and had been able to tell me and all her friends how incredible it was and although we were all fascinated we were all also, if we were honest, just a little bit jealous. This is the story of our journeys taken from our diaries in 1998 and 2001 using over a 100 images from those dives – we hope you enjoy it just as much as we did.  We would also like to take this opportunity to thank those who allowed us to use allowed us to their images to complete this project and publish our journal.  THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE!!
